10 Million 400 Thousand Dram Allocated for New Year's Preparations and Events in Gyumri

Gyumri will have a Christmas tree this year. The Gyumri City Council will allocate 10 million 400 thousand dram from the community budget for New Year's preparations and events.

Of the allocated funds, 5 million dram will be used for the installation and lighting of the Christmas tree. Compared to previous years, this year's decorations will not be very lavish, primarily focusing on lighting the central area. Most of the decorations will come from previous years. No fireworks are planned.

A part of the funds was also proposed to be used for organizing catering for council members and staff at the Gyumri City Hall, to which Vardevan Hakobyan, the leader of the “Zartonq” faction, objected during the council meeting. “I also suggest that a tree be placed for children, but catering, buffet, 600 thousand, 900 thousand, and technical lighting should be excluded,” said Vardevan Hakobyan.

The council decided by a majority of votes that there will be catering, but within the budget of 600 thousand dram. There will also be New Year's gift bags for children, for which 3 million dram will be allocated.
