The New Year Tree Will Be Installed This Year

In connection with the New Year and Christmas, the Yerevan municipality has decided to install the country's main Christmas tree in Republic Square for children. This was stated by spokesperson Hakob Karapetyan in an interview with NEWS.am.

“Christmas trees will also be installed in administrative districts. There will be no ceremony for the lighting of the main tree's lights. The Yerevan municipality will not organize New Year's events or fireworks, there will be no festive lighting on the streets, and the municipality's Christmas market will not operate. All first and second-grade students in Yerevan schools will receive an invitation from the municipality to watch New Year's children's performances,” Karapetyan noted.

It is worth mentioning that the tree to be installed in Republic Square is the one acquired by the Yerevan municipality in 2018.
