A Ferry Capsizes in Nigeria, Resulting in Over 20 Fatalities Including Children
On December 1, more than 20 people, including several schoolchildren, lost their lives due to a ferry capsizing in Nigeria, as reported by Armenpress.
The incident occurred early in the morning in the northern part of the country, specifically in Kano state. Among the victims were students from the Bagwai Muslim school.
The ferry overturned and sank during a crossing over the Watari River. A total of 47 people were aboard the ferry, of which 7 have been rescued while the bodies of 20 drowned individuals have been recovered. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
