The Topic of CSTO Was Not Mentioned Randomly: 'Fact'
'Fact' newspaper writes: During his recent 'press conference', Nikol Pashinyan stated that he does not believe that Armenia will consider the issue of leaving the CSTO. This statement, which outwardly does not contain any particularly sensational or new information, was made intentionally, as the saying goes, 'not just for the sake of it'. According to our sources, Pashinyan has made such a remark deliberately and emphatically, as in reality, deep discussions have taken place regarding this issue.
The matter is that, based on the information we have, Armenian authorities have received certain messages from the Russian side that indicate Moscow has significant concerns related to the recent resurgence of anti-Russian and anti-CSTO campaigns in Armenia. Moreover, these concerns are not only about the so-called Soros supporters and other Western-oriented individuals but also about certain circles within the government.
According to our sources, Russian authorities are confident that such sentiments are being generated or encouraged precisely by the highest echelons of the government, and not for any reasonable purpose. Moscow suspects that they are dealing not only with primitive 'blackmail' but also with a clear orientation against Russia. For this reason, Pashinyan has been compelled to stress the aforementioned point specifically.
