Azerbaijani Forces Have Withdrawn Slightly in the Ishkhanasar Area, But Not Completely: Sisian Mayor
The Azerbaijani armed forces have not fully withdrawn from the Ishkhanasar territory of Sisian. In an interview with Factinfo, the acting mayor of Sisian, Armen Hakobjanyan, stated that as of yesterday, Azerbaijani troops had not pulled back, and further clarification from commanders is expected today.
“They have reduced their military presence and equipment. That is all I can say at this moment; I need to clarify. It is possible that the troops may withdraw further,” said Armen Hakobjanyan.
It is worth noting that this morning, the mayor of Ishkhanasar, Marat Petrosyan, informed media that Azerbaijani forces had pulled back in the Ishkhanasar area, although he was not specific about the extent of this withdrawal.
The Ministry of Defense has not yet issued an official statement on this matter, responding to an inquiry from Armenpress that they would neither confirm nor deny the news, stating that information regarding border situation, troop movements, occupied positions, or other actions is released based on official communications from the Ministry of Defense, not the statements of local leaders.
