Tigran Abrahamyan on the Document Signed in Sochi

A member of the National Assembly from the 'I Have Honor' faction, Tigran Abrahamyan, wrote:

“At the meeting held in Sochi, it was noted in the form of declarations that there was a common state during the Soviet era, and there were no borders. This was mentioned to demonstrate the importance of the delimitation process; however, in reality, it created a much more dangerous situation. In the context of such perceptions, the incursion of Azerbaijani forces into the sovereign territory of Armenia is viewed not as aggression but merely as a border dispute. Moreover, the President of Azerbaijan has continuously tried to present acts of aggression against Armenia as unplanned border incidents. These statements indicate that in the near future, regardless of whether delimitation will begin or borders will be secured, the likelihood of new Azerbaijani aggression remains. Consequently, from the perspective of international perceptions, local actions will be classified as 'border disputes' in various directions, and responsibility for them will be equally assigned to both sides. The crossing of red lines will only be viewed by the international community at the time when military actions escalate to a large-scale nature. Yet, no one knows what scale of actions will be classified as 'large-scale' and what measures external players will take to restrain Azerbaijan under the current circumstances.

It remains to be understood whether in such cases, restraining Azerbaijan would exclude Armenia’s new capitulation.”
