Major Car Accident in Ararat: Driver Has Died
On November 28, a 57-year-old resident of the Ararat region, Kamo M., died at Armenia Medical Center. According to shamshyan.com, he had been transferred to Armenia Medical Center from Ararat Medical Center in extremely critical condition after suffering an accident on November 22 on the Yerevan-Meghri highway, where his VAZ 2121 vehicle collided with an earth mound and overturned.
Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated based on the second part of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code, as per the decision by investigator A. Gabrielyan, and the case has been referred to the Ararat regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
As previously reported by a photoreporter from the scene, a serious traffic accident took place in the Ararat region on November 22. Around 6:40 PM, a VAZ 2121 vehicle deviated from the roadway under unknown circumstances on the 82 km section of the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Meghri highway, rolled over several times, and ended up on its roof.
As a result of the accident, the driver, who was first aided by bystanders and then by the medical team from Ararat Medical Center who arrived promptly, was transferred in critical condition to Ararat Medical Center.
Officers from the second battalion of the second police company of the road police, led by Battalion Commander Grigor Poghossian and Squad Commander Karapet Harutyunyan, quickly arrived at the scene. Investigative work at the scene was led by investigator Armen Gabrielyan from the same battalion, who prepared materials regarding the fact.
Notification: A suspected or accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the criminal procedure code of the Republic of Armenia, based on a legally effective court verdict.
