VIDEO: Protests in Georgia Against Vaccination Passport 'Green Passes'

Lilit T.

Citizens in Georgia have taken to the streets in opposition to the 'Green Pass'. They believe that the government is creating discrimination between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, which constitutes a violation of human rights. Hundreds of people marched towards the Georgian Parliament.

“The 'Green Passes' take away our freedom of choice. We are being forced to get vaccinated. This is terrorism,” said participants at the protest.

As of December 1, individuals in Georgia are required to present a vaccination certificate, the 'Green Pass', to enter public places. If an individual without a COVID passport attempts to enter a public space, fines will be imposed not on the citizen but on the business entity; in the case of an individual entrepreneur, the fine will amount to 2000 lari (640 dollars), while for a legal entity, the fine will be 10000 lari (3200 dollars).

This was reported by the State Labor Inspectorate.

Citizens are required to present a 'Green Pass' when entering the following places: restaurants, cafes, cinemas, theaters, museums, concert halls, amusement centers, gyms, casinos, hotels, resorts, cable cars, and more. As for children's entertainment centers, adults (those over 18) are required to present a COVID passport.

An individual is considered to have a 'Green' status if they are fully vaccinated, or have passed a PCR test with a validity of 72 hours, or a rapid antigen test with a validity of 24 hours, or have been infected and recovered from the virus.
