Director of Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine Resort Complex Robbed

On November 27, 60-year-old Samvel Paronikyan, a resident of Yerevan, reported to the Kapan police department that between November 13 and November 23, an unknown person or persons stole the key to a fireproof safe from his bag at the resort complex of the 'Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine' closed joint-stock company.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Kapan police department was dispatched following the alert. Mr. Paronikyan informed the police that the fireproof safe was located in room 402 of the hotel complex, where a significant amount of money and a gold chain were stolen after the safe was opened.

Shamshyan's reports state that Mr. Paronikyan indicated he works as the director of the resort complex of the 'Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine' CJSC, and approximately 2 million drams were stolen from the safe. A criminal case has been initiated at the Kapan police department regarding the incident, and it has been transferred to the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Syunik regional investigation department.
