We Disagree with the Azerbaijani President's Opinion: Pashinyan Speaks on Prisoners
We do not agree with the opinion of the Azerbaijani president that all components of the tripartite statement from November 9, 2020, have been fulfilled, except for the unblocking of communications. This was stated today by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during a tripartite meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Sochi, in response to Aliyev's statement.
“You know, and we have discussed this with you many times both face to face and over the phone, that there is also the issue of prisoners, military captives, and other persons unlawfully held, and that is a very important humanitarian issue,” said Pashinyan.
It is noteworthy that the meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan is underway in Sochi. Before the tripartite meeting, Putin had a private conversation with Aliyev.
Furthermore, it should be mentioned that Pashinyan and Aliyev have agreed to meet again on December 15 in Brussels during the Eastern Partnership summit of the EU.
