Under What Circumstances Will Ukraine Impose Martial Law: Rada Deputy
Ukrainian authorities will only impose martial law in the event of a large-scale invasion, stated Oleg Seminsky, a deputy from the Servant of the People party, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“We all hope that this will not happen, but we should not panic. We must act with a clear mind and be prepared for the possibility that it could actually occur. If this happens, we, as a state, must fight until the end,” the deputy said during the broadcasting on Ukraine 24.
Earlier, former Ukrainian parliament member and leader of the Radical Party, Oлег Lyashko, announced that, according to his information, President Zelensky is planning to impose martial law in the country starting from December 1.
During all the years of independence, martial law has been imposed in Ukraine only once, at the end of November 2018, after Russian border guards seized three Ukrainian ships in the Kerch Strait that had violated the state border. The martial law was in effect in only ten regions for 30 days, after which it was lifted.
