Businessman Ruben Vardanyan stated in an interview published today by the Russian news outlet RБK that he intends to start a political career.

When asked if he is ready to become the President of Armenia, Vardanyan responded that the imperative issue currently is the preservation of Armenia as an independent state. He emphasized that in such a situation, it takes a very brave and risk-taking person to assume the responsibilities of the country's leadership.

“If the elite unites and collectively decides that it is the right decision for me to be there, or someone else, any decision is possible, because I am ready to be a shoemaker, a janitor, and a leader for my nation,” said Ruben Vardanyan.
