Vaccines Provide a 'False Sense of Security' According to WHO
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has warned that the level of socialization among people is returning to pre-pandemic levels, which could lead to a greater spread of the coronavirus, especially amid the holiday season.
As reported by The Guardian, Ghebreyesus stated, "Vaccines save lives, but they do not completely stop the virus from spreading." He expressed concern over a false sense of security among people who believe that vaccination has ended the pandemic and that vaccinated individuals do not need to take any further precautions.
According to WHO data, more than 60% of all reported cases of mortality and illness due to COVID-19 last week occurred in Europe. As per the data from Johns Hopkins University, nearly 260 million cases of coronavirus have been identified worldwide, and the disease has claimed the lives of 5,193,277 individuals.
