New COVID Strain Detected

Scientists are currently studying a new COVID strain that has been identified in South Africa. This was reported by Interfax.

It has also been noted that the new variant has been found in Hong Kong. The National Institute of Infectious Diseases has reported 22 cases of infection with this new COVID strain in South Africa.

The new variant features a significant number of mutations, which epidemiologists have indicated poses a serious concern.
