Employees of Vanadzor Polyclinic No. 1 Continue Their Strike
For two days, employees of Vanadzor Polyclinic No. 1 have declared a strike. On the morning of November 24, the staff arrived at work only to learn that their director, Syuzanna Balayan, had been dismissed.
The staff has stated that they are unaware of the reasons behind the sudden dismissal of their director overnight. “We don’t know the reason; that’s why we went out, to find out why our director was removed from her position. If there is no director, the seal will not be affixed, so why are we working? People have come to the workplace for licenses, but they are issuing permits in the organization without a seal,” they stated.
In an interview with journalists, the deputy director of Polyclinic No. 1, Liana Ghazaryan, said that the dismissal of the director has no political context. “We do not allow political processes to interfere with our polyclinic affairs. In every case, we are passive concerning such matters,” she emphasized.
Meanwhile, there are rumors circulating that Syuzanna Balayan was dismissed for approving a defamatory post from the governor of the region, Aram Khachatryan, on Facebook, who is also a candidate for the upcoming elections for the position of Vanadzor mayor from the Civil Contract party.
