Concerns Deepen After Meeting with Prime Minister, Says Goris Vice Mayor

The information that during the meeting, the community leaders of Syunik were not opposed to granting a corridor through Syunik is false. This was stated by Goris Vice Mayor Karen Kocharyan in an interview with NEWS.am.

“As the deputy mayor of Goris and the deputy commander of Arush Arushanyan’s team, I say that this information is entirely false. Although Arushanyan is not free, he is ready to stand by the army and fight for every inch of his land until the end. The Goris community is ready to fight and protect its territory. I participated in the meeting because the situation in Syunik is often manipulated, and it is necessary to clearly express a position and get answers. However, after the meeting with the Prime Minister, my concerns regarding the protection of Syunik's borders deepened, as no clear answer was given,” he remarked.

To the question of whether it was possible that during the meeting there was support for granting a corridor to the adversary, Kocharyan responded that such a thing did not happen.

“There was no such statement, no such agreement,” he said.

It is noted that information circulated in the media stating that during the meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the mayors of the Syunik communities did not oppose granting a corridor through Syunik.
