Mirzoyan and Abdollahian Discuss Regional Security Issues

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, presented in detail to his Iranian counterpart the situation arising from the recent aggression by Azerbaijani armed forces against Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. This information was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, adding that today Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that Azerbaijan's latest aggression against Armenia is a serious threat to efforts aimed at establishing security and stability in the region.

“Mirzoyan highly valued Iran's position regarding the territorial integrity and inviolability of Armenia’s borders,” the statement noted. The foreign ministers of the two countries also addressed a number of issues related to multifaceted cooperation between Armenia and Iran, expressing their willingness to make efforts towards further deepening relations.

The importance of conducting reciprocal visits at a high level was underscored. The interlocutors exchanged views on expanding ties in the areas of trade and economy, infrastructure, and energy. The work directed towards the establishment of a multilateral agreement for the “Persian Gulf-Black Sea” international transport corridor was also highlighted.
