Meeting Held Where All Issues Were Discussed Openly: Pashinyan
The meeting was held not to conceal issues, but rather to openly discuss all matters. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan following a trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Sochi today.
According to him, during the positive meeting, positions on certain issues were clarified. “There are no contradictions on many issues, as might have been expected before this meeting,” he stated.
Pashinyan mentioned that there are common understandings regarding the opening of transport communications, how these communications will operate, as well as regarding border demarcation and delimitation issues. He noted that a trilateral statement was adopted as a result of the meeting, which emphasizes the need to create necessary conditions and mechanisms for security and stability along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. Humanitarian issues have also been raised.
“I reaffirm the readiness of the Armenian government, which has received a mandate from the people, to open an era of peaceful development for the country and the region. This is our goal,” concluded the Prime Minister of Armenia.
