U.S. Bombers Conduct Nearly 30 Flights Near Russian Borders in a Month, Shoigu
Russian military officials have recorded a significant increase in the activity of U.S. Air Force strategic bomber aviation near the state borders of the Russian Federation, announced Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"We observe a substantial escalation of actions by American strategic bomber aviation near Russia's borders. In the past month, nearly 30 flights have been conducted towards the borders of the Russian Federation, which is 2.5 times more than in the corresponding period last year," said Shoigu during talks with Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe.
Shoigu emphasized that during the U.S. strategic Global Thunder exercises this month, 10 strategic bombers nearly simultaneously applied nuclear weapon development options against Russia from both western and eastern directions. "The minimum distance from our state border has been around 20 kilometers," he stated.
According to him, the development of cooperation between Russia and China is particularly relevant in the context of increasing geopolitical turbulence and the heightened potential for conflicts in various parts of the world. He reminded that China and Russia have been strategic partners for many years, noting that in light of growing geopolitical turbulence and the increasing potential for conflicts across different regions of the world, enhancing cooperation between the two countries is especially important.
