The Issue of Prisoner Return to be Discussed in Brussels: Pashinyan
We believe that Azerbaijan's behavior should become a subject of discussion not only in trilateral formats, not only in the CSTO, not only in the UN, not only in the Hague court, because ultimately, what Azerbaijan is doing is an attack not only on Armenia's sovereignty and statehood but also on democracy.
This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan while responding to media inquiries. He mentioned that there is a possibility of a face-to-face meeting with the President of Azerbaijan in Brussels.
Regarding the upcoming Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting in Brussels, the Prime Minister noted that the issue of prisoner return will also be discussed there. 'General contextual issues will be addressed as well. I think it is not right to create expectations from every specific meeting, whether negative or positive,' the Prime Minister stated.
According to him, we must negotiate and utilize all possibilities. 'It is important that exaggerated solutions or attempts to create apocalyptic sentiments around these negotiations do not occur in Armenia.'
'In this context, the initiative concerning direct communication between defense ministers was important, aimed at preventing incidents. I cannot say how effective that is. I personally have agreed to this communication and hope that it will strengthen stability in the region,' the Prime Minister emphasized.
