President Armen Sarkissian Does Not Deny Acquiring Real Estate in Paris

According to the daily newspaper "Haykakan Jamanak," over two weeks ago, the news outlet "Hetq" published an article titled "A company linked to President Sarkissian acquired property near the Champs-Élysées for €7.5 million." The publication reported that Sarkissian had purchased two real estate units in the name of the VH Estate company, founded in 2010 by his sister, Doctor Karine Sarkissian, and her daughter, Tatevik Sarkissian.

According to the source, the aforementioned company is classified as a civil entity, meaning it does not engage in commercial activities.

The daily newspaper sent a written inquiry to the President's Office to clarify President Armen Sarkissian's comment regarding the publication. In response to our inquiry, the public relations department of the President's Office replied, "Armen Sarkissian previously held an unpaid position as the non-commercial director of VH Estate, from which he submitted his resignation in 2018. Regarding the press publications on this topic, the information mentioned therein is not secret; on the contrary, it is public and accessible through open sources."

Thus, it appears that President Armen Sarkissian not only does not deny acquiring real estate in the center of Paris while occupying the director position of a political (non-commercial) organization but also does not refute the information regarding its value. It remains to be seen what will happen in such a situation.
