Is it Possible for Russia to Attack Ukraine? Peskov Elaborates
Russia is not planning to launch an attack on Ukraine and has no aggressive agenda. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the President of the Russian Federation, to journalists, as reported by TASS.
“Who is attacking whom—Russia on Ukraine or Ukraine on Russia? American and Ukrainian media are reporting that Russia is preparing aggression against Ukraine, while we confirm that Ukraine plans to carry out aggressive actions against Donbas, LPR, and DPR. We have repeatedly stated at various levels that Russia is not planning to attack anyone and has no aggressive plans. It is incorrect to state otherwise,” Peskov said.
Earlier, Bloomberg published an article citing its sources, claiming that U.S. intelligence had disclosed plans for a Russian assault on Ukraine at the beginning of 2022. The agency noted that approximately 100,000 soldiers would supposedly participate in the operation.
