We Do Not Use the Vorotan Section, It is Closed: Vorotan Resident

The head of the Vorotan community, Suren Ohanyan, a participant in all wars in Artsakh and a second-category disabled person, underwent surgery yesterday, as reported by his brother, Seyran Ohanyan, in a conversation with 168.am.

Seyran also informed that the Vorotan section of the Goris-Kapan road is closed, and they are using an alternative route.

“If I say that the situation is very good, that would not be true. That road is still under repair; the route goes through the Khot village, and I don’t know how food supplies are reaching the village and how teachers are commuting. We do not use the Vorotan section at all; it is closed, and none of us are taking that route,” Seyran Ohanyan noted.

He also emphasized that the alternative route significantly extends the travel distance. “The road is both difficult to pass and longer; for example, if we could reach Goris in 15 minutes before, now it takes us an hour to get there,” Seyran concluded.

It is worth mentioning that since November 11, the enemy has set up a checkpoint in the Vorotan section of the Goris-Kapan road and is conducting customs and border control. Regarding the issue, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, stated that if Armenian citizens wish to use that road, his logic suggests that they will have to pay a certain amount of money.
