I Have No Connection to That Murder: Hayk Sargsyan on the Killing of Kanaker Tui
I have no connection to that murder. The incident occurred on the 11th, and I left for Kazan on the 10th in the morning. This was stated by the MP of the ruling party, Hayk Sargsyan, during a conversation with journalists in front of the Government building, responding to questions regarding speculation that he was present at the crime scene, as reported by Hraparak.am.
"I do not know any of the participants in the incident, and I repeat that I left the country on the 10th," Sargsyan said.
It is worth noting that there were media reports suggesting that Sargsyan, who is more widely known by the nickname “Bottle Holder,” was near the well-known house on the day of Kanaker Tui’s murder. Following these reports, Sargsyan seemed so frightened that he posted on his Facebook page a stamp from his passport showing his entry and exit from the country, which contains the exit stamp from Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport on November 10 and the entry stamp from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport. The entry stamp from Zvartnots is visible only on November 16, and it is unclear when the MP returned to Armenia. Sargsyan's passport does not contain an exit stamp from any Russian airport corresponding to that same date.
