There Are Solutions to Overcome the Current Situation, Says Political Scientist to Opposition

The entire opposition must stand side by side with their leaders, said political scientist Ruben Hakobyan during a broadcast on Factual Info, presenting his proposals to the parliamentary opposition factions.

“To bring the authorities to their senses, the opposition should completely refrain from participating in National Assembly sessions, including committee meetings. They should resign from all positions, as these do not yield anything but exploitation,” said the political scientist.

He also suggested that opposition parliamentarians suspend all memberships in international organizations, as their most active representatives are under restriction and have no right to leave Armenia. “They must suspend their membership as long as the open political persecution against MPs has not been eliminated. Today we have detained parliamentarians. It is necessary to call parliamentary hearings to discuss important issues in this manner. They should gather and hold separate sessions. For example, one of the first initiatives should be to forbid representatives of the highest authority from leaving Armenia for five years,” stated Ruben Hakobyan.

The political scientist believes there are solutions to overcome the current situation, but the opposition requires rationality, political instinct, and professionalism.
