Russia and the USA Agree to Joint Mission to Explore Venus

Russia and the USA have agreed to send a joint mission to explore the planet Venus, said Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Roscosmos, as reported by kommersant.ru.

“We have reached an agreement with the Americans about a joint mission to Venus. Venus has traditionally been considered a Russian planet; Soviet devices have landed there. No one besides the Soviet Union has sent landing devices to this planet,” Rogozin stated.

The head of Roscosmos also recalled Russia’s plans for the Venus D mission. According to him, this mission will be a collaboration with the USA.
