Record Concert in Venezuela with Participation of 12,000 Musicians

Venezuela has set a Guinness World Record by organizing a concert that involved more than 12,000 performers, but the country is already prepared to surpass its own record, announced President Nicolás Maduro. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Today, Venezuela has set a Guinness record for the largest symphonic orchestra (concert)... Previously, the Guinness record belonged to Russia... If Russia doubles its orchestra, we will also double ours,” he said with a smile.

A week ago, the national system of youth and children's orchestras and choirs of Venezuela held a concert with 12,098 musicians participating, attempting to break the Guinness record for the world's largest orchestra by performing Pyotr Tchaikovsky's “Slavonic March.”

According to the rules, all participants in the orchestra had to be professional musicians, playing their instruments throughout the entire duration of the record-setting attempt, which had a minimum duration of five minutes.

Before this, the record belonged to Russian musicians, who in 2019 gathered 8,097 musicians in St. Petersburg to perform the Russian national anthem.
