Taron Sahakyan, who exploded Azerbaijani soldiers, has been posthumously awarded a medal for bravery.

“Based on the Prime Minister's recommendation and in accordance with Article 136 of the Constitution, as well as paragraphs 1 and 9 of Article 5.3 of the Law on State Awards and Honorable Titles of the Republic of Armenia, the officer-psychologist of the Military Unit N of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Senior Lieutenant Taron Jivani SAHAKYAN, is awarded the Combat Service Medal posthumously for his bravery and selfless devotion while defending the fatherland's borders,” the presidential decree states.

He was killed as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression on November 16. The officer fought selflessly to the end and, refusing to surrender the position, detonated a grenade, destroying several Azerbaijani soldiers, leading to his own serious injury. He was captured while injured, and on November 17, Muradov transported his body from Baku to Yerevan by plane.
