I Haven't Been in Touch with Him for a Long Time: Osipyan on His Nephew's Allegations

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "One of the websites 'under the spotlight' has published information that former police chief Valeri Osipyan's nephew, Sedrak Osipyan, is suspected of stealing a 33-year-old woman's BMW through fraud and selling it to another person. The victim has appealed to the police, and the police in Nubarashen tracked down the BMW, which had been 'stripped,' near an auto parts store on Rubinyants Street.

We contacted Osipyan to understand if he was aware of the situation regarding his nephew. Osipyan stated that he learned about the incident from the press and has not been in touch with his nephew for a long time. 'I haven’t been in touch with him at all for a long time; I am not aware of what happened. I learned from the media what has taken place or whether it has taken place at all. If he is guilty, let him answer; I am not obligated to answer for the actions of any of my relatives. Everyone has relatives; I have my own life, my own family, for which I am responsible, and before the law, everyone is equal. If he is guilty, let him take responsibility,' said the former police chief."
