Questions Arise: How Did Hayk Sargsyan Reach ‘Zvartnots’ Airport – From Russia, the Universe, or Kanaker?

Yesterday, the newspaper ‘Zhoghovurd’ published information regarding rumors that on the night of November 10-11, during the sound of gunfire in Kanaker, government MP Hayk Sargsyan was waiting in a car near the house of former MP Artush Simonyan for a criminal figure known as Tuy. However, when the sounds of gunfire were heard, he disappeared from the scene. Moreover, according to the information we received, he was assisted in leaving Armenia after the incident.

Following this publication, the MP, who is now in Yerevan, denied the information. Let us present the contradictions in his controversial denial, filled with lyrical outpourings and insults, without retaliating to the insults. Thus, Hayk Sargsyan wrote: “I was on a business trip to the Russian Federation from November 10 to 16 as a representative of the RA National Assembly to participate in the CSTO exercises.”

According to the official information posted on the RA National Assembly website, “In order to conduct parliamentary monitoring within the framework of the CSTO peacekeeping forces’ exercise ‘Indestructible Brotherhood-2021’, MP Hayk Sargsyan was sent to Kazan (Russian Federation) from November 10-13, 2021.”

Falsehood 1: Hayk Sargsyan was on a business trip from November 10-13, not 10-16. It is unclear what he was engaged in from November 13-16, and he also did not attend the opening of the National Assembly’s plenary session.

It should be noted that according to official information from the National Assembly, the travel expenses and daily allowances related to the business trip were paid for by the budget of the Republic of Armenia allocated to the National Assembly for this purpose in 2021.

The second point the MP mentions is: “I do not know any of the participants in the incident.” Allow me to not believe the MP’s claims, reminding of the press reports about the warm relationship between Hayk Sargsyan and the deceased Arthur Ghazaryan from Kanaker, who was a friend of Tuy.

Lurer.com published on November 11: “It was not by chance that after the 44-day war, Tuy was awarded combat weapons by the decree of the President of Artsakh. According to reports circulating in the press, the initiative came from Nikol Pashinyan, and his advocate was Hayk Sargsyan, a deputy from the ‘My Step’ faction.”

Then the MP claims that he became aware of the incident the next day, posting photos confirming his participation in the CSTO exercises. He then went even further and published his passport, which shows the exit stamp from ‘Zvartnots’ airport on November 10 and the entry stamp from Russia’s ‘Sheremetyevo’ airport. It also shows an entry stamp from ‘Zvartnots’ airport on November 16 only, leaving it unclear from where the MP returned to Armenia. Hayk Sargsyan’s passport lacks an exit stamp confirming his departure from any airport in Russia on that same date, but it is strange that there is an entry stamp to ‘Zvartnots’ airport.

Questions arise: How did Hayk Sargsyan reach ‘Zvartnots’ airport – from Russia, the universe, or Kanaker? Questions also arise regarding the date and time of the MP’s departure to Moscow, as well as concerning his return.

In order to obtain a clear, impartial clarification, ‘Zhoghovurd’ newspaper has sent an inquiry to the Russian border service, requesting information on when RA citizen Hayk Sargsyan traveled to Moscow, which airport he landed at, and when and from where he returned to Armenia. We have also contacted the RA NSS, requesting Hayk Sargsyan’s phone localization data to understand where he was on the day of the incident.
