Nina Karapetyants: "Pashinyan's Statements Yesterday Are Not Fitting for the Country's Leader"

Human rights defender Nina Karapetyants was caught off guard by the Prime Minister's statements regarding captured soldiers during a question-and-answer session in Parliament yesterday. According to Azatutyun, the defender considers Pashinyan's words unbefitting for a country's leader.

“Such a response does not befit the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, does not befit the Prime Minister of the country, does not befit the person who is the constitutional guarantor of the life, rights, and freedoms of every citizen of Armenia,” said Karapetyants.

Opposition 'I Have Honor' faction MP Tigran Abrahamyan posed a question about the fate of 13 soldiers captured during the recent battles, as well as many others whose status remains uncertain: What does the country's leader know about the fate of these servicemen, and what measures are being taken to prevent violence against them?
