First, Biden Did Not Invite Pashinyan, Suren Sargsyan Clarifies
Expert Suren Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Yesterday, information was circulated (at the initiative of the National Security Council) that was enthusiastic and manipulatively rephrased, stating that Pashinyan had received an invitation from Biden to participate in the summit and had confirmed his attendance. There were even media reports claiming that Pashinyan had been invited to the U.S. in the coming days.
Let me clarify a few things:
First, Biden did not invite Pashinyan; he invited leaders from around 120 countries. Second, Washington did not extend any invitation; it is an online summit on democracy. Third, there is no scheduled meeting between Pashinyan and Biden. Fourth, he did not receive an invitation during yesterday's clashes, but rather received it days ago. Fifth, not only Turkey and Azerbaijan are not invited (which was presented as our significant achievement), but also China, Russia, and Iran. Lastly, the online event will not take place in the coming days; it will be held from December 8 to 10.”
