Azerbaijan Used 'Yashman': Boris Avagyan Discusses Recent Events and Why Muradov Was Called Back
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has recalled the Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District, Rustam Muradov, from vacation and sent him to Armenia to negotiate with the Azerbaijani side. This information was provided to Factinfo by Colonel Boris Avagyan. In Russia, it is believed that only Muradov can conduct tough negotiations in this situation.
Despite the ongoing captivity of prisoners and hostages in Baku, following a recent escalation in the eastern sector, 13 more Armenian servicemen were captured. Avagyan is uncertain how successful Muradov’s negotiations regarding the return of the captives will be, but as a citizen, he has two questions for the newly appointed Minister of Defense: “Was the participation of special forces prohibited in military operations? Was there a senior officer above the rank of major present during the military operations? These two questions are important, and when we get answers, many things will become clear, because in military operations, I believe special forces should have been utilized, and it would have been appropriate for NSS special forces to participate as well,” he stated.
Avagyan emphasized that it is particularly important to know this information, as the Azerbaijani side has used its special forces, the 'Yashman.' A year has passed since the end of the 44-day war, and just recently, 13 more servicemen were captured. According to Avagyan, the army is in a demoralized state.
