All EU Airlines Can Operate Direct Flights to Armenia: Civil Aviation

The EU-Armenia Comprehensive Air Agreement will provide Armenia with several benefits, creating new opportunities in the field of air transport, establishing new direct air connections, and expecting economic benefits as well. This statement was made by the Civil Aviation Committee, outlining the advantages following the signing of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive Air Zone Agreement.

It was announced that in Brussels, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, and Slovenia's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Stanislav Raščan signed the Armenia-EU Comprehensive Air Agreement.

"All EU airlines will be able to operate direct flights from any point in the EU to any airport in Armenia, and the same will apply to Armenian airlines. All restrictions and limitations on flights between Armenia and the EU will be removed, and equal competitive conditions will be guaranteed in accordance with the provisions of open and fair competition," the Civil Aviation Committee stated in its announcement.

It should be noted that, in accordance with the provisions of the agreement, Armenia will need to continue aligning its legislation with EU aviation regulations and standards.
