There Is an Order to Not Fire at Both Sides: Artur Hovhannisyan
“Not every soldier can pull the pin on a grenade and martyr themselves, there is an order to not fire at both sides,” stated the former spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, reserve colonel Artur Hovhannisyan, during an interview on 24TV’s program “Interview.”
According to Hovhannisyan, border incidents are logical and will continue as long as the border line is not concretized and there is no clear trench; in such situations, it is extremely difficult for commanders to act.
He believes that the videos showing Armenian soldiers being humiliated and pulled out from their positions are a result of a propaganda war. “In reality, things are not as bleak, as our soldiers do the same,” emphasized Hovhannisyan.
