The Mayor of Tegh Talks About the Border Situation

Combat operations are not yet taking place, but the situation remains tense. This was stated by the head of the Tegh community in Syunik, Nerses Shadunts, in a conversation with ArmLur.am. “I can’t say much more at this moment,” he added.

It should be noted that the situation along the eastern border of Syunik has been tense since early morning today. The Ministry of Defense reported that around 11:00 AM, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units attacked Armenian positions located in the eastern border zone, and the Armenian side responded with appropriate actions. By 2:00 PM, the situation was still tense.

By 2:30 PM, it was reported that local combat was ongoing, during which the enemy was using artillery, armored vehicles, and various calibers of small arms. “The Armenian side is carrying out appropriate actions. The situation is under the control of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia,” assured the Armenian military authorities.

On the other hand, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense reported that Armenian anti-tank measures and grenade launchers had been destroyed. The Azerbaijani military also stated that the situation along the border remains tense and combat operations are continuing.
