Seiran Ohanyan on the Video Released by Azerbaijanis
“It was a painful video for me, especially since I have served in our Armenian army for many years. The troops at the front line should have received a clear order to maintain and defend the area where they are fulfilling their tasks,” said Seiran Ohanyan, a member of the 'Hayastan' faction, during a press conference, referring to the well-known video where Azerbaijani armed forces approach Armenian positions.
“When there are violations and provocations during combat duty, there are operational instructions and plans for the use of force as appropriate,” added the former Minister of Defense. “What does it mean to surrender just like that, without a shot being fired? It means first that there is an order not to shoot, not to provoke. As the current authorities say, there should be no combat operations. In that case, we must come to two conclusions: they are allowed to invade any territory, and we must not shoot. If you do not want to fire but want to prevent advancement, it means that appropriate defense and engineering measures must be in place. In other words, inter-positions must constantly be under control so that they cannot penetrate our sector,” concluded Ohanyan.
