Pashinyan Should Go and Sit There, Said a Resident of Byurakan

A protest is taking place in the Byurakan community against the interim community leader Radik Gevorgyan.

"He is a cheating scoundrel, owes 100 people. He shouldn't be coming as the village mayor, he should be tried. He took people to Russia, employed them, but didn’t pay them," said one of the villagers, according to news.am.

Another resident of Byurakan stated that elections are scheduled for December 5, after which it will be decided who will be the community leader here. The villagers are not allowing the interim community leader to enter the community hall.

"Is this a democratic country? They bring in an idiot, a cheater with police, and put him as our community leader? Is this Armenia?" said a participant of the protest.

“One can declare, 'I love you all, I am proud of all of you, isn’t that so?'" noted another protest participant.

“Is this democracy? Is this Pashinyan's version of democracy? What is happening? He should come here, present himself, and explain why things are like this. The same situation exists in all villages of Armenia, don’t they feel uncomfortable?" said one of the community’s residents.

“I’ve heard from certain sources that Pashinyan said he should go himself and sit there, that’s it. That’s what they are doing. They brought him in, presenting such a person, and tomorrow when they ask us, we won’t be able to say we’re from Byurakan," said a protest participant.
