Our Response Must Be Armament, Not Repeating 'Everyone Has Fled' All Day: Tatevik Hayrapetyan

Former MP Tatevik Hayrapetyan wrote on her Facebook page: "In a video released by the Azerbaijani side, one of our boys confidently and clearly says that they should not dare to shoot, or we will shoot back. After that, the Azerbaijani representative starts to behave more restrained.

I don’t know the details; no information is being properly communicated, but one thing I do know is that in response to any suggestion of 'tactical withdrawal,' the Azerbaijani side will try to seize new positions. In response to any proposal to 'open a new era of peace,' Aliyev will promise to 'show his fist' and lay claims to the sovereign territories of Armenia.

The Azerbaijanis and the Turks have come at us like terrorist groups; our response should be armament, preparation, and having a national and state idea. Not just repeating all day that 'everyone has fled.' Some have fled, which happens in all wars, but those fighting have fought so that today Armenians live in Artsakh and that the backbone of Syunik is maintained as much as possible. We must rely on those who are fighting; there are such types, and they are strong. We cannot demoralize the people and instill a sense of helplessness.

After all, this is the same people who endured heavy trials in the 90s and did not allow themselves to be exterminated. The back of the Armenian soldier must be straight, and for that, a strong support is needed—a backing that understands the value and price of the state."
