Is the Acting Mayor of Byurakan a Classmate of Nikol Pashinyan? Governor Responds to Residents' Demands
The acting mayor of Byurakan, Radik Gevorgyan, is he a classmate of Nikol Pashinyan? This was the question posed by a reporter to Aragatsotn Governor Razmik Petrosyan. The governor noted that various rumors might circulate but emphasized that the names of the Prime Minister and the state governance system should not be involved in this situation.
Petrosyan stated that he himself had requested Gevorgyan to serve as the temporary head of the Byurakan community. However, given the public's unrest, he said they would listen to the people and appoint a different official in the community.
It should be noted that a protest was occurring in Byurakan. Residents were demonstrating against the temporary head of the community, Radik Gevorgyan. Participants in the protest claimed they were satisfied with the previous mayor, whose term had recently expired, leading to Gevorgyan being appointed as the acting mayor. They expressed that Gevorgyan is not from their community and that they do not know him.
Residents of Byurakan also mentioned that Gevorgyan boasted of being a friend of the Prime Minister.
