Iran's Foreign Ministry on Escalation of Situation at Armenia-Azerbaijan Border
The spokesperson of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, expressed concern regarding new military clashes in the border areas between Armenia and Azerbaijan, urging both sides to exercise restraint and avoid escalating the situation.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized the necessity of respecting the internationally recognized borders of the countries and called on the parties to resolve conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means.
Khatibzadeh characterized the current tense situation as dangerous for the gradual process of peace and development in the region.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is, as before, prepared to assist the parties in conflict resolution and in establishing stability and security in the region," Khatibzadeh stated.
