Gunfire Can Be Heard in Goris at This Time, Says Deputy Mayor

The situation along the eastern border of Armenia and Azerbaijan remains tense. In an interview with ‘PastiInfo’, Goris Deputy Mayor Karen Kocharyan stated that gunfire can currently be heard in Goris, adding that the firefight is occurring in the area from Ishkhanasar towards Sisian.

“It is on the left side of Ishkhanasar, towards Sisian. Even now, gunfire can be heard in Goris. I have no other information; I am trying to find out what is happening,” Kocharyan said.

Kocharyan also referred to reports that intense gunfire is escalating in the direction of Tsitsernakar in the Syunik region. “In the Sisian area, we have Tsitsernakar. Specifically, I cannot say anything until I see it with my own eyes,” he added.

It is noteworthy that the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported that Azerbaijani Armed Forces units have once again resorted to provocation, attacking Armenian positions deployed in that direction. The adversary is using artillery, armored vehicles, and small arms of various calibers. The Armenian side has taken corresponding countermeasures. As a result of the intense gunfire, the adversary has suffered losses in armored vehicles.
