What Factor Contributes to Death in Cases of COVID-19
Specialists at Cleveland Medical Center have discovered a link between respiratory disorders during sleep and the risk of death from coronavirus infection, as reported by RIA Novosti.
The doctors analyzed data from approximately 5,400 patients at the hospital. During the analysis, accompanying factors such as heart and lung diseases, cancer, and smoking were also considered.
The experts found that oxygen deprivation during sleep increases the likelihood of hospitalization and mortality by 31 percent in cases of COVID-19. However, they did not find a connection between this pathology and the high probability of infection with SARS-CoV-2.
