“Today We Must Yell from All Possible Platforms”: Gayane Abrahamyan

Former MP Gayane Abrahamyan’s statement: “What should our diplomatic circles do today, across all platforms and directions, if we still have even a minimum capacity to conduct sovereign diplomacy? Instead, using all possible media, justify the actions of the sworn enemy by insisting every time that this is their territory and opposing the establishment of illegal checkpoints with merely mirror placements of checkpoints (a strategically meaningless and unproductive move). Instead of justifying the occupation of sovereign Armenian territories without conducting demarcation and delimitation, because when you assert that a certain section is Azerbaijani territory, there is no legal basis for it, not even the statements from November 9 or January 11, which are also not real legal grounds, since they do not establish this, but very important messages should be provided to all international partners regarding this matter.

Once again, due to the illegal actions of the Azerbaijani side, at least 9 communities (Bardzravan, Shurnukh, Vorotan, Jakhaten, Srashen, Shikahogh, Nerkhin Hand, Tsav, Shishkert) have had their residents' right to life, right to humanitarian assistance, and threats to the realization of their right to education violated.

Do not even attempt to deny and insist that these villages have alternative routes; the inter-community earthen road is absolutely impassable on the brink of winter (reports with evidence will be attached in the comments). Today, the rights of the people living in these communities must be shouted from ALL possible platforms, organize visits by representatives of the diplomatic corps operating in Armenia; our voice must be very loud right now, and yes, this must also be done by civil society organizations. In any complex situation, even under such toothless setbacks and concessions, there are tools to act, if only there is a will to apply them.”
