The Cause of the Current Situation is Nikol Pashinyan: MP

Over the course of a year, the Minister of Defense has changed for the fourth time. Discussing the security system and the policies in the defense sector in conditions where four different defense ministers have been replaced in one year seems, in my opinion, unserious. I am not even talking about changes in the Chiefs of Staff, deputies, and changes in military corps. After all, we also saw changes in the leadership of the Armed Forces after the war, with a new commander of the Armed Forces being appointed,” said Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the “I Have Honor” faction during the discussion on the topic “War and Capitulation: One Year Later.”

The MP stated that we have entered a spiral of personnel changes, from which prospects for recovery are not visible. While reforms in the army and the security sector have a title, they lack substance.

“The borders of Armenia and Artsakh continue to come under enemy aggression, Azerbaijan is reinforcing its positions in the areas where it has advanced since the war, while the current government of Armenia continues its earlier adopted policy of devaluing the army,” Abrahamyan noted.

According to Tigran Abrahamyan, the cause of the current situation, as well as the way out of it, has a single answer. “There is one reason for this situation. That reason is Nikol Pashinyan. Any issue we discuss in our country—be it security, domestic political, foreign policy, or any other aspect—ultimately relates back to Nikol Pashinyan. For any healthy force operating in Armenia—parliamentary or extra-parliamentary, political or civic, for any conscious person, the solution is simply the replacement of Nikol Pashinyan,” the MP emphasized.
