Russia May Assist Turkey in Developing Next-Generation Fighter Jet
Moscow is negotiating with Ankara to provide assistance in the creation of a fifth-generation Turkish fighter jet. This was announced by Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia, at the Dubai Airshow. This information was reported by Ermenihaber.am.
Previously, the United States had refused to sell fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets to Turkey due to its purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense systems.
“Russia has repeatedly expressed its willingness to support the Republic of Turkey in the creation of a fifth-generation fighter. We are currently in the negotiation phase regarding this project,” Shugaev clarified.
