Gor Abrahamyan on Electoral Crimes
I find it necessary to inform that on November 14, 2021, during the local self-government elections held in the communities of Stepanavan and Lermontovo in the Lori region, in the Kapan community of the Syunik region, and in the Arzni community of the Kotayk region, law enforcement agencies did not receive reports or alerts regarding apparent electoral crimes or other incidents related to the elections throughout the voting day. This was noted by Gor Abrahamyan, advisor to the Attorney General, on his Facebook page.
He specifically stated: “In connection with the local self-government elections held in the Ijevan community of the Tavush region, only one alert has been received regarding an apparent attempt at double voting, for which, by the instruction of the prosecution, materials are being prepared in accordance with criminal procedural rules. Apart from this, no reports or alerts concerning other electoral offenses have been received.”
“Before the start of voting, that is, during the election campaign, only two alerts were received concerning apparent electoral crimes related to the local self-government elections in the Kapan community, which have been subjected to examination initiated by the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Prosecutor's Office of Syunik. However, as a result of the verification processes, these were not confirmed and were left without consequences. Furthermore, during the period prior to voting, no alerts regarding criminal electoral violations were reported from other communities,” he added.
