No Discussion on My Resignation: Joaquin Caparros
Following the 0:5 defeat against North Macedonia in the penultimate round of the World Cup qualifying tournament, there has been no discussion regarding the resignation of Armenia's national team head coach Joaquin Caparros. The Spanish coach made this statement at the pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Germany.
“There has been no discussion about my resignation at the Football Federation of Armenia since the last match. We have talked about our future projects. We haven’t been effective in previous games, and that was why we didn’t achieve victories. We have hopes linked to Alexander Karapetyan, but it’s also worth mentioning young Narek Grigoryan. If they are called up, it means they are important for the national team. The players are the first to motivate themselves because they feel the bitterness of defeat more than anyone else. There was a lot of hope and enthusiasm regarding the last match. We’ve spoken with them, tried to prepare them psychologically, and emphasized the importance of showing a worthy game against Germany, especially with our fans in attendance. The composition of Germany does not matter; they have many high-class footballers and have been working under the same football philosophy for years. Projects are always implemented calmly, patiently, without falling into extremes,” commented Joaquin Caparros.
The Armenian national team will host Germany today, November 14, at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium.
The match will kick off at 21:00.
