Local Government Elections in Stepanavan, Kapan, and Ijevan Today
Local self-government elections are taking place today in several communities across Armenia. Proportional elections are being held in the cities of Stepanavan, Kapan, and Ijevan. Meanwhile, council member elections are taking place in the Arzni community of Kotayk province and the Lermontovo community of Lori province. Additionally, mayoral elections are occurring in Lermontovo.
In Kapan, the elections are contested by the nationalist party 'Shant Alliance,' led by Gevorg Parsyan, and the 'Civil Contract' party, led by David Danielyan. In Ijevan, participants include the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, led by Vahan Ghazumyan, and the 'Civil Contract' party, led by Arthur Jagharyan. In Stepanavan, three political forces are competing: the 'Prosperous Armenia' party, headed by Harutyun Garagyozyan, the 'Armenian National Congress,' led by Vano Hakobyan, and the 'Civil Contract' party, headed by Armen Grigoryan.
