A monument to the USSR's People's Artist Armen Jigarkhanyan was unveiled today, on the anniversary of the actor's death, at the Vagankovo Cemetery in Moscow. The information was reported by Interfax.
According to the monument's creator, Mikhail Sogoyan, work on the monument has been ongoing throughout the year. Friends, family members, and representatives from the theater community also participated in the project.
"The statue is made of granite. Armen Borisovich is depicted at an advanced age, which I believe is how most people remember him. This character is one of his significant roles in the production of Edward Radzinsky's 'Conversations with Socrates' at the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theater," Sogoyan said.
